【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardspecifiesrequirementsandtestmethodsfortheobjectiveandsubjectiveevaluationoftheergonomicandthermalimpactofpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE)ensembles,includingclothingandrespiratoryprotectiveequipment(RPE),onfirefighters.ThisstandardisnotintendedtobeusedinplaceofmethodsforassessingtheperformanceofindividualitemsofPPEspecifiedintheirproductstandards.ItspecifiesthetestingofindividualitemsofPPEasanensemblesothatthecompatibilityoftheindividualitemscanbeevaluatedandanyadverseinteractionsbetweentheindividualitemscanbeidentified.ItspecifiesrequirementsfortestingbyeitherassessingtheperformanceofaPPEensembleagainstabenchmarkcondition(i.e.benchmarktesting)orassessingtheperformanceoftwoormorePPEensemblesagainsteachother(i.e.comparativetesting).Thestandardincorporatespracticalperformancetestingaswellaslaboratory-basedtesting.TheresultsofthetestinginthisstandardcanassistemployerswhousePPEtodemonstratecompliancewiththeECDirectiveonpersonalprotectiveequipmentattheworkplace[4],enactedintheUKbyThePersonalProtectiveEquipmentatWorkRegulations2002[2].Thisstandardcanbeusedbyendusers,NotifiedBodies,manufacturersorotherstocomparetheperformanceofdifferentensemblesaspartofafirefighters’PPEselectionprocess,therebyassistingemployersindemonstratingcompliancewithThePersonalProtectiveEquipmentatWorkRegulations1992(asamended)[2].ThestandardcanbeusedtoassesstheperformanceofanensemblethatincorporatesanitemofPPEthathasneverbeforebeenincorporatedintotheensemble.
