【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulfortheanalysisofdrinkingwaterandgroundwaters.Otherwatersmaybeanalyzedbythismethod,see1.2.EDBandDBCPhavebeenwidelyusedassoilfumigants.EDBisalsousedasaleadscavengerinleadedgasolines.Thesecompoundsareverywatersolubleandareoftenfoundingroundwateranddrinkingwater.Sincetheyarehighlytoxicandaresuspectedcarcinogens,thereisconcernaboutthepotentialhealthimpactofevenextremelylowconcentrationsinpotablewater.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationof1,2-dibromoethane(commonlyreferredtoasethylenedibromideorEDB)and1,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane(commonlyreferredtoasDBCP)inwaterataminimumdetectionlevelof0.010956;g/Lbyliquid-liquidextractioncombinedwithgas-liquidchromatography.Thistestmethodisapplicabletotheanalysisofdrinkingwatersandgroundwaters.Itisnotrecommendedforwastewaters,duetothepotentialforinterferencesfromhighconcentrationsofotherextractableorganics.SimilarinformationcanbefoundinEPAMethod504.1.2Thistestmethodwasusedsuccessfullywithreagentwaterandgroundwater.Itistheuser''sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodforwatersofuntestedmatrices.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSections6and9.
